The big name wineries of Northeastern Victoria are making their flagship red wines out of Durif because it produces monumental reds in the warmth along the Murray River.
Our wine comes from old vineyards at Swan Hill that have even supplied fruit to the Northeast. Stranger things have happened. This wine is not as black as some examples of Durif but it is already 4 years old (or young) and has some nice secondary flavours you expect from maturing reds.
Its our fullest bodied red and will go on aging for another 4 years if anybody can leave it alone that long.
