Pinot Grigio is the latest big thing. Why?  We think that lots of people are well and truly over wooded Chardonnay that tastes like peaches and cream on an oak platter.

The other big thing is N.Z. Sauvignon Blanc that is so in your face you could pick it out in a bushfire on a dark night in a paddock of green grass. The next thing was always going to be something that was a bit subtle. The Italians have been making wines that go well with food rather than compete with it all their lives. Pinot Grigio is their expression of this grape. Don’t expect in your face flavours but look more at texture on the palate and a wine that washes down with good Mediterranean foods.

There are some subtle brine and cooked pear flavours but don’t loose any sleep if you disagree. This is a perfect seafood dry white wine and will work well as an aperitif. Don’t get too serious just enjoy it!
