Barrel Fermented Chardonnay. For all you ABC (anything but Chardonnay) drinkers, here is a wine to make you rethink your attitude to this variety. We have all been very sick of over-oaked or over-ripe peaches and cream with a little bit of butter style Chardonnays and moved on to other things.
This wine will bring you back to this noble variety. It is a fine wine with subtle stone fruit flavours of white peach or nectarine and even that taste of the stone when you suck the last flesh from it. This is balanced by the mild oatmeal flavours from the yeast contact in the barrel and the slightest hint of oak.
It is complex with lots of layers of flavour and texture. Delicious!
