2021 CHARDONNAY

Tumbarumba, NSW

Made by Simon Robertson.

This Chardonnay from Tumblong Hills is a delightful expression of the cool-climate region of Tumbarumba in New South Wales. With its location along the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, this region is known for its red volcanic soils and a rich winemaking history that dates back to 1877. To make this wine, the grapes are handpicked, whole-bunch pressed and with minimal settling, fermented in both medium-toast French oak barriques and stainless-steel fermenters. Matured for 6-months in oak with bi-weekly stirring of yeast lees sediments to improve texture.

The Tumbarumba Chardonnay offers a nose of buttery pastry and oak, leading to flavours of white peach and lemon. It features a mineral acidity and subtle salinity, with a finish of whipped butter, soft herbs, and oak. Overall, this Chardonnay presents a well-balanced and sophisticated profile. Enjoy it as a standalone sipper or pair it with seafood dishes, roasted poultry, or creamy pasta.
